Exact Vehicle Sizes And Weights To Plan For

Volumetric mixer (8×4 rigid): length 10.0–11.0 m, width 2.5–2.6 m, height 3.8–4.0 m, GVW up to 32 t. Kerb-to-kerb turning circle is typically 19–22 m. Chute reach is about 2.5–3.5 m.

Gates And Overhead Clearance

As a rule, a straight approach needs 3.0 m+ gate width. If the truck must turn through the opening, allow 3.5–4.0 m. Minimum overhead clearance is 4.0 m. Watch for lintels, balconies, carports, branches and overhead cables.

Slopes, Gradients, And Cambers

Short approaches up to 1 in 6 (≈16.7%) may be workable, but sustained slopes should be 1 in 10 (10%) or gentler. Crossfall should not exceed around 1 in 12 (≈8%). Avoid sharp crests and dips that risk grounding at the truck’s breakover point.
